Put this in a 688E and it works just fine. The one I received has the plastic rather than metal top. The fan blades are full height like factory motor. It does come with a gasket.

Q:
I bought this motor and installed it along with a new switch. Vacuum still won't turn on. I removed 1 carbon brush, reinstalled, vacuum turned on. I put vacuum back together, now it won't turn on. Why??

i wanted to know where i could get the gray fan that is on the motor in this picture for the sc684 mine was running bad so i opened it and the fan on mine has a chip in the blades?

A:
Fans with the motors which come from overseas have a gray fan. The replacement is the clear one. Not all motors are coming with the gray fan. As to purchase them we have them on the site. I just wouldn't go to McDonald's and ask them where you could get a Whopper.

Yes, regarding the two replacement motor options, (seven amp for the SC series) what is the advantage of the more expensive motor over the less expensive motor?

A:
The more expensive motor comes with the cardboard sheild. The lower-cost one doesn't. You can use the older one if you still have it or just run it without.
