A: Height can be adjusted, but the brush roller will keep turning and forcing the dirt away from the vacuum. I wouldn't recommend this unit for bare floors.

A: Yes, but be sure that the gauge of the cord is bigger than what comes with the unit.

Q: We have the Sanitaire SC5845B and are having trouble with the hose input. When we use the hose dirt comes out when the hose would normally attach onto. Not sure what the problem is. Why would dirt be blowing out when using the hose?

A: This could be from a clog in the hose or a filter causing a back blast.

A: With the variable height adjustment, it will work fine. I this is the newer super plush carpets, then no.

A: SC5745 is a 13 inch cleaning width. The SC5845 is a 15 inch cleaning width. Outside of that we only have shipping size .

A: It has height adjustments, but the roller will continue to spin. I has on board attachments that can be used for floors if you add a floor bush to the unit.

A: HEPA filter is washable, no its not self propelled. Most manufactures have eliminated self propelled and have made the units easy to push.

A: Check the belt first. Second, take the cover off to see where the belt rides and if any obstructions are in the area.
